THE MOON DECK

The Moon Deck is the outdoor terrace attached to Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya at 429 Moo 9 on Beach Road. It is elevated above the road rather than perched on a tower, so the payoff is proximity: the sea, promenade and sunset sit directly in front of the room. Hard Rock describes an oversized jacuzzi, a large LED screen and open-air seating for drinks and the cafe menu.

This is not a separate high-rise cocktail destination. The outdoor deck, indoor cafe, main stage and Rock Shop are parts of one Hard Rock operation. That matters when reading event listings. The current official page puts the resident live band on the indoor main floor, while the Moon Deck is the sunset and open-air side of the visit. The LED screen can carry sport, classic-rock videos and venue visuals without turning the deck itself into the band's stage.

Hard Rock's 2025 event sheet measures the deck at 264 square metres and lists room for up to 100 at a reception or 50 at a banquet. That explains why the space can switch from an ordinary sunset service to private parties and fireworks events. Choose it for an easy, branded waterfront evening; skip it if rooftop height or an intimate cocktail room is the main goal.

The official hotel and cafe pages list the Moon Deck daily from 17:00 to 23:00. The current promotion page advertised 50% off selected drinks every day from 17:00 to 19:00 when checked on 25 July 2026. The offer is limited to selected items; it is not a promise that the whole menu is half-price. Confirm the marked list before ordering.

Arrive near 17:00 for the clearest version of the venue. The deck has just opened, the promotion is active and sunset is still ahead. A 19:30 arrival misses the published deal but gives a more obviously night-time view across Beach Road. After 22:00, Hard Rock states that entry is restricted to guests aged 20 and over, so younger family groups should finish earlier.

The indoor cafe is listed from 14:00 to 23:00. Hard Rock's dining page also publishes band times on the main floor until 23:30 Sunday–Thursday and 00:30 Friday–Saturday. Those later performance times conflict with the same page's 23:00 cafe and deck close. Do not average them into a later Moon Deck timetable: treat 23:00 as the deck plan and confirm the indoor programme on the day.

Weather is the other hard boundary. The official page warns that service may move inside during the rainy season. If the sea-view deck is the sole reason for the visit, call before travelling in heavy rain. The indoor fallback preserves food and music, but it is not the same outdoor experience.

The Beach Road and bayfront guide covers the city's long coastal evening rather than one dense bar street. The Moon Deck is one of its easiest early anchors: it sits on Beach Road, opens before the late zones and finishes while Walking Street and Buakhao are still building.

The Sky Gallery is the clifftop dinner comparison, with broader Thai and international dining and a Pratumnak setting. Horizon is the formal high-floor option for a polished occasion. Drift is the lower Hilton lounge for afternoon tea, light meals and a quieter central sunset.

The Moon Deck wins when the plan is casual: one known early offer, familiar food, sea air and a clean handoff into the rest of the night. It loses when you need late hours, quiet exclusivity or a guaranteed outdoor table. Use it as the beginning of an evening rather than the final destination.
