Torien is the Japanese izakaya at Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa in Na Jomtien. The point is not simply altitude or a quick sunset drink. It is a full table: Japanese plates, sake, Japanese whisky and the bay changing colour beyond the resort. That combination makes Torien feel closer to a destination restaurant with a strong bar than to a rooftop stop on a city circuit.

The setting south of central Pattaya changes how the night works. There is less reason to rush onward and little value in pretending this is walkable with Beach Road or Walking Street. Arrive for the view, order across the menu and allow the meal to carry the evening. Transport should be arranged before the first drink, especially if you are staying in central or north Pattaya.

Who it suits: couples and small groups who want Japanese food, sake and a measured coastal night where conversation still matters. Who should skip it: anyone seeking a spontaneous central crawl or a loud late-room payoff.

Torien rewards a table that treats food and drinks as one sequence. Start with the sunset cocktails or sake, then let shared plates set the pace instead of ordering a quick round and watching the clock. Marriott describes casual dress, but the resort setting still favours an intentional evening over beachwear and a hurried arrival. If the outdoor view is essential, say so while booking and ask what the weather fallback will be.

Torien's official site resolves what looked like a schedule conflict by separating two services: the restaurant opens daily 17:00–23:00, while the rooftop bar opens Wednesday–Sunday 17:00–00:00. Both schedules were re-opened on 1 August 2026. On Monday or Tuesday, plan for the restaurant rather than assuming the rooftop bar operates.

The operator publishes links to its current food and drinks menus. Use those menus and the booking contact for the date's selection and terms; a crowd-sourced cost category is not a fixed bill, cover or minimum and is not used here.

Book sunset and weekend tables rather than assuming a walk-in will secure the view. Keep the resort phone and return ride in the plan. Once seated, this is a destination evening; leaving after one rushed drink discards the main value while still carrying the transport cost.

For two people, a sensible order starts narrow and expands only after the first plates arrive: one sake or cocktail direction, a few shared dishes, then another round if the table wants to stay. Larger groups should ask how the kitchen sequences sharing plates and whether the view-side table has a booking condition. Those are planning questions, not published guarantees, but they prevent the coastal setting from disguising a budget or timing mismatch.

Torien belongs to the southern end of the Beach Road & Jomtien zone. It is the deliberate dinner choice in that large coastal category. For a central, polished high-floor occasion, compare Horizon. ZAMĀ is closer to Jomtien's late music destination, with Afrohouse and a 03:00 finish. BARBÙ is central, Mediterranean and useful from pool hours through dinner. Torien is the quietest and most cuisine-specific of the four.
